Following the release of the anniversary issue V50 Beyond Beyond, Volume is changing. Different aspects of the magazine are being rethought and reworked, among those, there is Volume as a digital outlet. The printed issue remains a pivotal medium for our research featuring more in depth research, but online publishing becomes a stronger complement to the printed magazine.
In this regard, the editorial board now accepts unsolicited articles and pitches through a permanent call for submissions.
In light of Volume’s role and history as a magazine in the field of architecture and beyond, articles submitted for consideration must not have been published on other platforms or through other outlets before. There is no restriction on topics or formats, both written and visual contributions are accepted, but submitted articles need to be speculative and future-oriented (please refer to already published articles as examples). It is preferable for an article to deal with issues we are currently researching, but it is not compulsory.
Research update (24/08/17). Technology related submissions are prioritized. Dealing namely with: blockchain, augmented reality, virtual reality, smart cities, digital identity, big data, open data, metadata, digital commons, game design, surveillance capitalism, digital diversity and other social issues related to technology.
